Artist Statement

Adrienne sculpts, weaves, and layers materials together onto painted canvas to create her mixed media dimensional paintings.  Her work is a continual process of adding and taking away, and most importantly, experimentation. For the most part, her process is not based on a preformed idea, but is experiential. Her paintings come together as she reacts to the materials in her hands.

Adrienne’s paintings have been featured on the cover of Hoi Polloi and in Explore Gwinnett, and belong to private and corporate collections across the United States and Europe. She has given demonstrations and lectures about her artistic process at the Tannery Row Artist Colony, the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, and the Kudzu Art Zone, and she has taught students of all experience levels from teenagers to adults in her Tannery Row Studio.

Adrienne has been a full-time artist and part-time instructor at the Tannery Row Artist Colony since 2013. Originally from Dalton, Georgia, Adrienne received eleven years of formal education in the arts, including graduation from the North Carolina School of the Arts, a BA in Studio Art from Florida State University, and a BFA with a concentration in Interior Design from the University of Georgia.
