This year, the 3-D show was headed up by Tannery Row Artist Colony member and studio artist Bree Sauers. Thrilled as well with the number of entries, it was even more exciting to see the show come together and watch as viewers observed each piece closely and react to the show as a whole, stated Bree. This year's show was such a success, and I can't wait till the next 3-D show!
Over thirty Local and Regional Artists participated in the show, bringing to the Tannery a wonderful collection of stimulating and exciting work, lending to multiple awards. 1st Place went to Jane Jaskevich, for her piece, Dream, 2nd Place was given to Karen Adams for her work, Horned Man of the Sea, 3rd Place was awarded to Aleta Johnson for her piece, Voices, and Honorable Mention was given to Richard Shivers for his work, Quilted Bowl.
Tannery Artist, Tonya Haswell designed and developed an installation piece incorporating many found everyday objects. Parts of her work are placed within an area of a main wall adjacent to the Tannery Gallery. These parts taunt the viewer into inspecting objects within her piece more closely as the they interact with one another, creating dialogue and intrigue.
Our 2018 3-D Juried Art Exhibit stunned visitors and art collectors with its variation and breadth of subject matter and mediums. This Year's Juror, Kevin Chambers, N.S.S., represented by dk Gallery, was excited to see not only the high number of entries in the show, but the engaging quality and approach to artist materials and techniques.
Tannery Artists also participated in the Juried 3-D show placing in the Member artist Category. 1st Place was awarded to Bree Sauers, 2nd Place was given to Debra Barnhart, 3rd Place went to Christine Canova and Honorable Mention went to Judy Isaak.
Overall this show reveals the multifaceted and diverse art world within our regional and local community. Its exciting to see so many people involved in creating, interacting and communicating through the visual arts.
