Raised in San Francisco, artist Janet L. Poor started her life long love of art by sketching the buildings and parks of her hometown. She immersed herself in learning new techniques and using different media to express her inner mind. Her true love in life is oils on canvas and she has created hundreds of paintings "just because." She loves painting flowers, landscapes and old barns in oils and acrylics.
In the last 18 years, she has also pursued an interest in jewelry making. Janet has a knack for beading and wire wrapping. However, her favorite style of jewelry at the moment is bead weaving and bead embroidery.
Today, Janet still considers herself a life-long student, always willing to try new things. She has never lost her excitement or love of art and continues to experiment with new materials everyday. She has recently discovered a love for clay making and who knows what she will discover tomorrow.
